Summer trips to Haiti

In the summers of 2001 and 2002, groups including UNO graduate and undergraduate students, a post-doctoral fellow, a doctor, a dentist, community members, and interested people from out of state all travelled to Haiti to study sustainable development. We stayed with the Fondwa Peasants Association in the highlands between Port au Prince and Jacmel. Topics included deforestation and reforestation, agricultural techniques, microcredit, health care, water resources, and livestock. For additional information about a future class, please email me at deasley@uno.edu.

I also help arrange trips for Partners in Progress, for which there is information below:
Buckets used for carrying household water supplies
Buckets used for carrying water from a spring capture system.
